About

I'm a reporter based in Washington, D.C. Most recently my work has appeared in the Christian Science Monitor, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Online NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, Foreign Policy magazine, the Washington Monthly, World Politics Review and National Journal Group publications. I've covered a number of topics, ranging from U.S.-Israeli relations to the 2008 Russian-Ukrainian gas dispute to the U.S. Senate to U.S. border security issues. In February, I traveled to the U.S./Mexico border to report on border security and immigration issues as an Arizona State Media fellow. I then reported on a number of issues from Europe as a John J. McCloy Journalism fellow. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago, where I specialized in political theory, and I'm one thesis away from completing my graduate degree at Georgetown University.
