2008: John J. McCloy Journalism Fellow
Selected to report from the European Union in spring 2008 on the EU’s growing dependence on Russian energy and its effect on transatlantic relations; scheduled to report from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Italy and France.

2008: Arizona State University Media Fellow
Immigration: The Southwest Border
One of ten reporters selected from a national pool of applicants to attend a week-long workshop in February focusing on immigration and border security issues. Fellowship includes travel to several Mexican border towns and meetings with law enforcement officials, migrant workers and academics, among others.


2006/2007: Lilly Scholarship

Two-time recipient; awarded annually by the Lilly Foundation to 20 journalists; financed Georgetown education.

MALS with concentration in International Affairs, Georgetown University
Coursework completed. Expected graduation in summer 2008 upon thesis submission. Coursework includes U.S. defense policy, terrorism and Muslim/Christian relations.

European Summer Institute on the Future of Europe
